Travel
Field notes: three days on the 395
Bishop to Joshua Tree with a cooler of jars in the back. What travels, what doesn't, and why the desert buys differently.

Bishop, then south
We ran the 395 south with a cooler of Mad Honey and Maad Fruit and stopped at every partner on the route. Bishop wanted jars and questions about the press. By Twentynine Palms the conversation was entirely about carts — jars and 105°F do not get along, which is the whole reason the all-in-ones exist.
What we changed after
Two things. Cold-chain for anything going past Barstow in summer, and Red Rings pushed to the front of the high-desert allocation. The map on the Destinations page reflects it.
